Carlo Muscat Quartet - The Genius of Wayne Shorter

For more than a decade, saxophonist Carlo Muscat has considered Wayne Shorter as one of his main influences in composition. Having lost this giant of music in recent weeks makes this tribute to his legendary work even more meaningful. Join us in celebrating this genius on Friday 5th May, where we’ll be performing arrangements of some of the tunes which we find to be the most inspiring, and iconic.
Carlo Muscat is a Maltese saxophonist based in Kyiv and has performed a number of concerts around Europe, including in Paris, London, Istanbul, Milan, Berlin, Kyiv, and Rotterdam. He now has five albums under his name as a leader and will be releasing his sixth album in 2023; he also appears on another five albums as a sideman. He describes his musical journey as a process that is ceaseless and expressive, allowing for freedom of interpretation. He is known for his fresh take on the genre and his unabashed use of improvisation, making the tunes of his compositions markedly his own.
